Fenistil Drops are an oral antihistamine treatment that relieves skin rash (dermatosis), itching (pruritus), hay fever and nasal allergy. Fenistil drops can also help to relieve itchy skin that can result from conditions such as hives (urticaria), and skin allergies.1

Fenistil Drops are suitable for adults and children and easy to dose.

How Fenistil Drops works

Fenistil blocks the action of histamine, which is a substance released by the body during allergic reactions. Fenistil relieves itching (pruritus) and irritation caused by skin rash (dermatosis), decreases swelling, and helps relieve the symptoms of nasal allergy including runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose, and itchy, watery eyes.

How to use Fenistil Drops

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 20 to 40 drops three times a day.

Children: Infants 1 month to 1 year (only on medical advice): The recommended daily dose is 2 drops per kg bodyweight per day, divided in three intakes, e.g. 6 drops three times a day for an 8-month old infant weighing 9 kg.

Children aged 1 to 12 years: The recommended daily dose is 2 drops per kg bodyweight per day, divided in three intakes, e.g. 8 drops three times a day for a 2 year old child weighing 12 kg.

Do not administer Fenistil Oral drops, solution to a baby aged 1 month to 1 year unless prescribed by a doctor.

Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Fenistil Oral drops, solution should not be subjected to high temperatures. The medicine should be added to the baby’s bottle immediately prior to feeding, when it is lukewarm. If the baby is spoon-fed, Fenistil Oral drops, solution should be given undiluted in a teaspoon.

When to use Fenistil Drops

Fenistil Drops provides relief for:

• Relief of itchy skin (pruritus) of various origins: endogenous pruritus, skin inflammation (dermatitis or eczema), pruritic dermatoses, insect bites, chicken pox, skin allergies and rash (dermatosis), and hives (urticaria).
• Symptomatic relief of seasonal (hay fever) and perennial allergic rhinitis.
• Symptomatic treatment of drug and food allergies. Prevention of allergic reactions during desensitization therapy.
